Junior Night Live
|
Junior Night Live was an evening of small skits, special music, advertisements, and jokes on Sunday evening (April 3, 2022). The junior class wrote each of the components of this show focusing on our community—Berrien Springs; our Adventist traditions; and our school—Andrews Academy. The evening was filled with laughter as the audience enjoyed the original works done by the class.
The junior class officers and sponsors would like to thank each of the class members and parents that volunteered to make this evening possible. Also a big thank you to our community for purchasing tickets to help support this class fundraiser. There was an abundance of praise and generosity from the audience. That's what building community truly looks like. We hope our class continues standing strong together in order to serve God and those around us. Thank you again for your dedication.
Please go to the Junior Class Facebook group to see many more photos from this event. Juniors, if you haven’t joined the Facebook page, please join this group so you can keep in touch with your class, not only now but also throughout the years after you graduate.

Academy Work Day - Spring 2022
A big thank you to everyone who helped with “spring cleaning” at Andrews Academy this past Sunday, April 3. We thank the parents and students who volunteered their time and came ready to work and get things accomplished. Windows were cleaned, outside areas attended to, and the vocational shop was cleaned out. There were many projects in the shop, including clearing out storage areas and cleaning the two main rooms. A crew also worked in the PE department, assembling some new workout equipment. We appreciate your generosity in sharing your time with Andrews Academy as we complete some finishing touches in preparation to the Accreditation Team’s visit in two weeks.

Student Week of Prayer - Chapels
One of the highlights of spring semester is Student Week of Prayer (April 4-8, 2022). The class, SA, and NHS pastors, under the guidance of Pastor Mario Ferguson, have prayed, brainstormed, planned, and worked together to create a series of messages centered around the theme Light in the Midst of Darkness.
On Monday, SA pastor, Ben Santos, introduced the Student Week of Prayer theme and began the program with prayer. Samantha Mitole, freshman class pastor, presented the devotional on darkness contrasted with light. She told a story from her Pathfinder club camping at Potato Creek State Park. After campfire, she and friends needed to walk to the outhouse, and on the way back, she temporarily got lost in the darkness and didn’t know where to go. Her camp leader found her and provided light on the path to find her way back to the camp. She then shared the other definition of darkness— wickedness. She recounted the story of the angels telling Abraham of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham negotiated with God, wondering if He would still destroy the city if there were 50 righteous, then 40, etc., and each time God said He wouldn’t destroy the city. She encouraged each to be a light in this world as stated in Matthew 5:14. We can begin by influencing others with our light, and we can share this light with many to provide them the salvation that God wants to share with everyone.
Today (Tuesday) after song service, Connor Moore read the scripture thought from 1 John 5:14. Following this, sophomore class pastor, Callie Carlsen, presented the devotion. She shared a story about a time when she tried to change up her style. It was a Sunday night, and Callie decided to try and style her hair with a round brush, to gain more volume. Everything was going smoothly until she tried to unroll the brush from her hair. Panicked, Callie sought help from her parents. One night and twelve painful hours later, the brush was finally out of her hair. During this whole experience, Callie was calling out to God in prayer to help her. It took some time, but He did answer her prayer. Sometimes certain situations can feel hopeless.
