Dedication Convocation
Andrews Academy’s Dedication Convocation on August 29 brought students, faculty, and families together to worship and dedicate the new school year to God.
This year’s theme, “Called to Behold,” was unveiled on the school banner, highlighting four themes for the year: humility, excellence, love, and mission.
Six students from Andrews Academy’s international community read the theme text, John 1:29, in six different languages.
Pastor Gabriel Johnson shared a message centered on Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” He reminded students that we are called to turn our attention to Jesus, trust Him, and allow Him to carry our sins.
The celebration continued with a haystack meal prepared by PPI and volunteers, giving students, families, and faculty an opportunity to fellowship and begin the new school year together.

Chapel Re-Cap
Tuesday Chapel: Emphasizing the Positive
Tuesday’s chapel was led by Mr. David VanDenburgh, Andrews Academy’s vice principal. He shared insights from the school theme displayed on the Academy’s theme wall: “To restore in us the image of our maker.” Drawing from Colossians 3:23–24, he encouraged students to remember that “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.”
Mr. VanDenburgh also introduced the new ACE award, a merit system faculty can use to recognize students for positive behaviors in four areas:
Achievement, Attitude, Character, and Excellence. When students receive a card, it will be submitted to the front office and recorded as a positive behavior notification for both the student and their parents.
The new initiative provides a great way to recognize and celebrate the positive choices and accomplishments of Andrews Academy students. In less than two weeks, more than 15 students have been recognized for positive behaviors!

AA Student Highlight
Berrien County Youth Fair
Lily Youmans, a Sophomore at Andrews Academy, submitted a poem to the Berrien County Youth Fair, winning several awards including Reserve Grand Champion Poetry. "It was a poem inspired by the fair itself," she says. Her poem included lines about the Zipper ride, the streaming crowds of people, and the wonderful memories of days spent at the fairgrounds. Congratulations, Lily!
