Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on March 29 & 30. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences on Wednesday, March 29, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and conferences on Thursday, March 30, will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
Online signups will open on Tuesday, March 14. The last day to sign up is March 28.
If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.
To sign up online, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa and complete the following steps:
- Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
- Select a time for your conference.
- Click the “Add to Cart” button.
- Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
- Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.
These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.
In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.
If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.
- How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
- How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac
We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.
Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University.
If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.
We look forward to meeting with you.

Opting into Texting for One Call Now
Andrews Academy utilizes One Call Now, an automated messaging service, to contact students and parents about school cancellations, upcoming events, and performances, etc.
|
|
|
Please make sure that we have the phone number that you would like to have contacted. We also send an email, put the announcement on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and alert local TV stations (WSBT, WNDU, ABC57).
To receive a text notification instead of a call (text works best), please text “ALERT” to 22300. Please make sure that you have given us the number that you would like to be texted on as well. Email ginam@andrews.edu with any changes. Thank you!

Honor Roll
There is an almost full page article in the local newspaper, The Journal Era, listing those on honor roll for the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year. It includes a rather large color picture of the freshman honor roll students.
If you want to purchase the February 22, 2023, edition of The Journal Era, you will need to go to their main office in downtown Berrien Springs. Sorry, we did not notice this article in the paper until recently, so they are no longer available in local newsstands.

Freshman Fundraiser
The Class of 2026 needs your support! And there's an EASY way to do it:
|
|
Treat the family to a meal at Stevensville Culver's on Tuesday, March 14, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A portion of the evening's sales will benefit the freshman class as they begin saving for their senior class trip. Dine in or drive through, stop by and show your support. Culver's DOES have vegetarian options, including a veggie burger. And you won't want to miss their ice cream treats! See you there!

Chapels this Week
This week, we heard from a variety of speakers, allowing for an exciting diversity of chapels.
On Monday, we heard from our Principal, Pastor Ferguson, who spoke to students about Psalm 137 and gave them a different perspective on how to approach the chapter.
On Tuesday, we were visited by ACA (Adventist Colleges Abroad) representatives, who informed AA students of the opportunities available to them, even as highschoolers, for studying abroad.
On Wednesday, we heard from Pastor Tom Gary, who started Women's History Month by sharing the story of his female predecessor (as written by her son), about her miraculous recovery and how, perhaps, the greatest legacy she left was helping foster a family who loved God.
Thursday's speaker was Kyle Hardinge, one of our seniors, who emphasized God's unconditional love, through the example of Absalom, David's son, as well as his own harrowing experience getting heart surgery when he was younger.
To end our week, Ms. Nancy Kardos-Moldovan (or Mrs. May, as she is known to the students) read a story about Thomas and his grief following Jesus' death, ending with his reaction to Jesus' resurrection. She made sure to emphasize that sometimes, when you're waiting for God to show up in your life, you may not realize that He has been there the entire time.
We'd like to thank each of the speakers for allowing us to remember to focus again on the Light and apply our newfound reflections in our lives!

AA Uniforms Available from Lands' End
We have renewed our relationship with Lands’ End for uniform needs. More selections for uniforms are now included, such as a button-down shirt, a long-sleeved polo, and a sweater. Click on the option(s) that you would like, then choose the size (kid or adult). Please be mindful that Andrews Academy is not responsible for your orders.
We are working on other jacket options.
|
|
Please review the Sourcebook (pgs 79-81) for more information regarding uniforms. Only approved logoed uniform wear is allowed. A solid-color, long sleeved undershirt may be worn under the AA short-sleeved polo (no writing should be visible on the undershirt). If a student is wearing a fleece/squall jacket, they should also have an AA logoed shirt underneath.
|
If you need PE uniform items, please see Pastor Ferguson or Mrs. Mills at lunch time or after school (cash only).
