Beach Day Success!

Even though rain kept us off the beach, it didn’t stop us from having a great day together! We began with chapel and a special message from SA President Nathan Crownover, who reminded us from Matthew 14:22–33 that what we focus on impacts how we live. Instead of focusing on the rain, we chose to focus on having fun, encouraging one another, and—most importantly—keeping our eyes on Jesus.

Students competed in fun class challenges, including tower building, hula hoop passing, ping-pong relays, class scramble, and tug-of-war. The seniors took the win in tug-of-war!

Our traditional sand sculpture competition became a creative human sculpture competition, with each class portraying a spiritual theme. The seniors depicted the Last Supper with his disciples, reminding us that we are called to serve Jesus and others.

After a delicious walking taco lunch prepared by Parents Positively Involved (PPI), students enjoyed volleyball, games in the commons, and VeggieTales in the library.

Rain or shine, it was a fun, meaningful, and memorable day at Andrews Academy!

CLASS VESPERS

The junior class enjoyed an evening of fellowship and worship at the picnic site behind Andrews Academy on Friday, August 28. Gathered around the campfire, students spent time singing and sharing together, led by Kaden Spare. It was a beautiful, sunny evening for everyone to enjoy.

The senior class held their vespers at the Reid home along the St. Joseph River. The evening began with volleyball by the river, followed by supper. Students then gathered around the fire pit for singing, and class pastor Luke Reid shared a worship thought. The evening concluded with s’mores around the campfire.

The freshmen also enjoyed a class vespers.

This past Friday the Sophomore class had its first class vespers. The students had time to play, worship and have dinner together. We want to thank the Dockertys for opening their home and welcoming us!

Safety Assembly

Last week, Andrews University Campus Safety led our assembly with the chiefs of the local fire and police departments. Andrews Academy alumnus Matthew Oosterwal serves as the School Resource Officer. Important safety information was shared as we begin the new school year.  We have to look out for one another.

We are grateful for those who work to keep our campus safe and pray for a safe and blessed school year.  We have successfully completed emergency drills so far at AA.
