Student Association Officer Nomination Forms Due

This Friday, March 18, by 12:00 PM.

Anyone who is interested in running for an SA office, please fill out the nomination form from the office. See Mrs. Mills if you have any questions.

Noon Dismissal This Friday

This Friday, March 18, we will dismiss at 12:00 PM. Afternoon classes will be asynchronous. Lunch will not be served.

Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on March 30 & 31. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences on Wednesday, March 30, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Conferences on Thursday, March 31, are from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.

Online signups opened today, Tuesday, March 15. The last day to sign up is March 30.

If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.

When online signups open, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa to sign up and complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
  2. Select a time for your conference.
  3. Click the “Add to Cart” button.
  4. Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
  5. Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.

These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.

In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.

If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.

  1. How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
  2. How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac

We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.

Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University. Music teachers are listed when available as they teach for RMES as well.

If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.

We look forward to meeting with you.

Thank You, Pastor Ferguson!

At the beginning of chapel on Monday, Pastor Ferguson dialogued briefly about the two year COVID-19 journey the Andrews Academy family has gone through as he announced that face masks are now optional for chapels and assemblies.

The following day, a teacher publicly thanked Pastor Ferguson as he led the school through the majority of this two year experience. He explained to the students the many hours and stresses Pastor Ferguson went through as he navigated us through COVID-19. He had to find the balance of what the Berrien County Health Department was saying and expecting, as well Andrews University, and guidelines from the CDC. These three entities did not always have the same expectations. Pastor Ferguson also had to evaluate where the school was in reference to COVID-19 cases; what students, parents and faculty were desiring; and then make important decisions as he navigated us through COVID-19.

THANK YOU, PASTOR FERGUSON, for navigating us through COVID-19 thus far and for continuing to do so as this pandemic hopefully winds down soon.

Chapels this Week

Madison Whitman, a new junior, presented chapel on Monday. She focused on instability and not belonging. Madison is a pastor's kid. As such, she and her family moved around a lot. Moving around frequently required Madison to switch schools. Enrolling at a new school can be difficult, especially when you don't have friends. With the continual changes in her life, Madison found it hard to find a constant in her life. Through it all, she remembered that God is always with her. To close, Madison reminded us that God will always be there for us. No matter how far we may go or where we end up, we will always belong with God.

Today (Tuesday), special music was performed by Zothile Sibanda and her sister Zola. Our guest speaker was Dr. Vanessa Greer. Dr. Greer started by posing the question: What is your purpose? Jesus met with the people of the community every day. We are to follow Christs' example, so we should also show our love for our community. Hebrews 10:24 says, "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." People in Benton Harbor are struggling and in poverty, and they are just down the way within our reach. It would take one phone call to help someone. In closing, Dr. Greer encouraged us to help people first, then share Christ with them.
