Ice Skating & Class Vespers

Class vespers and activities provide a meaningful time to be drawn closer to God, to develop friendships outside of the classroom setting, and an opportunity for class officers to develop leadership skills as they plan and lead in the activity and worship experience.

Traditionally, individual classes organize and plan events, but sometimes classes work together to plan an event. On Friday, February 24, 2023, all four classes went ice skating at the Howard Rink in St. Joseph. More than 135 students participated, one of the larger groups since the school started this tradition.

After ice skating, each class went to various locations for their class vespers. Sophomores and juniors had their vespers at the Academy, while freshmen and seniors went to a home from their class. The seniors went to the Dockerty home for a lasagna supper followed by singing and worshiping together. Ronan Freed introduced his mom who then presented from her doctoral research on a physiological term, attachment theory. She is researching from the gospels Jesus’ words as it relates to attachment and how He uses this to develop our relationship is Jesus. A very informative and profound presentation.

We are working on other jacket options.
