The Journey Together

There is something special about coming back. This Alumni Weekend, former students are walking through the doors of Andrews Academy once again. The hallways may look different, teachers and students may have changed, and years may have passed, but the memories remain. Friendships, lessons, worships, laughter, challenges, and moments of spiritual growth become part of a story that continues beyond graduation.

In Deuteronomy 32:7, Scripture reminds us: “Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past.” God invites us to remember, not simply to live in the past, but to recognize His faithfulness throughout our journey. Looking back helps us appreciate where God has brought us and trust where He is leading us next.

That is a blessing of Alumni Weekend. Our alumni remind today’s students that their years at Andrews Academy are one chapter in a much larger story.

Whether you graduated years ago, are a student today, or serve our school community, remember God is still writing your story.

Sometimes, coming back helps us see just how far He has brought us.

With gratitude,

Rubén A. Pérez Schulz

SCHOOL SPIRIT WEEK

The week leading up to AA Academy Alumni Weekend is School Spirit Week (October 13–16, 2026). Each day featured a fun theme:

Tuesday was Dressed for the wrong occasion Day — students dressed in a creative outfit but was for the wrong occasion

Wednesday was Generation Day - freshmen as Toddlers, Sophomores as teens, Juniors as parents and seniors as grandparents, and Teachers as students!

Thursday was Rhyming Day - students came dressed up as words with your friends so that the words rhyme.

Friday was Fresh Fit Friday - come to school dress up in a “fresh fit.”  Basically, dressed formal.

This week focused on doing various fun activities to help develop school spirit. The SCHOOL SPIRIT THAT HAPPENS EACH DAY of the school year is what really amazes me... Seeing students helping other students, students encouraging each other, students being kind to each other, students reaching out into the community to lend a helping hand. Most importantly, students living the Christian life to be living examples for God. This daily expression of school spirit by the teenagers of AA is what truly amazes us.

Alumni Weekend 2026 - Convocation & Career Seminars

Today, Oct. 16, 2026, was the beginning of Andrews Academy’s alumni weekend.  Hundreds of alumni will be returning to remember the fun times at AA and to renew friendships with each other and with our God.

The weekend began with Convocation in the chapel for current Academy students. The Senior class, the Class of 2027, led the gathering with singing, prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Ruben Perez Schulz, AA Principal, welcomed everyone to the event.

Alumna Eunice Wovamba (’81) shared how God has led throughout her life. Her journey took her from working as a nurse in the United States to serving with the United Nations and ADRA in various parts of the world. She later founded an organization in Kenya and opened a school to help people build better, more abundant lives. She concluded with three key lessons: keep God first, pursue a career you enjoy, and give back to your community and the world by sharing your talents.

Following convocation, students attended two career seminars of their choice based on their interests. This valuable opportunity allowed them to explore potential career paths and gain insights from Andrews Academy alumni about their professions. For example, Don Saldia (’06) presented on public health.

Please go out of your way to thank Mrs. Tonya Snyder and Mrs. Gina Meekma for an excellent program today and for planning the entire weekend. And thank you to a whole host of volunteers for stepping in and helping make this weekend possible.
