AA Awards Assembly
Each spring, Andrews Academy recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of the students. This recognition includes awards for outstanding work in all classes, for the religious contributions students have made, and for involvement in the many music and physical education opportunities available at Andrews Academy. Recognition and awards were also given to the many students who take leadership responsibilities in such groups as Yearbook, Student Association, etc. (May 3, 2022)
As you can see, we strive to recognize the many talents students have. It is at times like these that we as teachers stop and contemplate the high caliber of students we have. Students... continue to work hard at developing your God-given talents.

Sophomore Class Vespers & Treasure Hunt
“Lessons from Nature”
We invite each sophomore to our last class vespers of the school year. Come enjoy a hot dog supper by the campfire followed by a treasure hunt through the forest. Some treasures will be chocolate treats (to finish our supper), and other treasures will be scriptural nature nuggets with bonus points. We will then return to the campfire for worship where we will learn lessons from nature through the scriptures found on the trail. We will also have time to express thanks to each other and give praises to our God, all interspersed with singing by the campfire.
If you are driving to the vespers, please drive in the driveway and park in the same direction. If you are being dropped off for the event, please do not drive in the driveway, walk in from the road. Please bring lawn chairs and a roasting stick.

Date: This Sabbath, May 7, 2022
Time: 5:30-7:30 PM
Please turn in your permission slip and $5 to Mr. Wright by Thursday. You must turn in a permission slip!

Backpacking Tour
On April 21, 24 students and chaperones set out on an adventure to conquer some of the Smoky Mountains trails (April 21-27, 2022), to challenge themselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually, as well to spend some time enjoying God’s creation.
The sponsors were impressed with the teamwork and perseverance that developed throughout the backpacking trip. Participants went out of their way to help carry backpacks for each other when some became too tired to continue. Others peppered each other with positivity to help some who became discouraged and overwhelmed. In one stretch, on a rather warm day, the water supply ran low, and some helped each other by giving a gentle push to help those that were too tired to continue climbing up a steep hill.
This was Ms. Ivonne’s, AA registrar, first AA backpacking trip, and she was so thankful for the teamwork of the group, such as guys carrying her backpack at various times. One day, the guys carried her backpack up the hill to the evening campsite, set up camp, and then went back down the trail to make sure that she and the rest of the group were managing.
Despite the stress and being overcome with fatigue at various times on the backpacking trip, wonderful memories were created that each can look back on and retell the stories of this adventure in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Ms. Ivonne was terrified just before this, her first backpacking trip, but now says she would like to go again and said everyone should give it a try as it does stretch your limits as you try new things and experience God’s beautiful nature, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
