Class Vespers
Each of the classes were scheduled to have vespers this past weekend. Freshmen, sophomores, and seniors had their class vespers, while the junior class vespers was rained out. Their class vespers is rescheduled for May 20. The following is an account of the sophomore vespers.
Thirty sophomores enjoyed their last class vespers of the school year, which began with hot dogs by the campfire followed by a treasure hunt through the forest. Some treasures were chocolate to finish their supper, others were nature nuggets and scriptures. Sophomores returned to the campfire for worship, where they shared information about a nature item and scripture that went with that item, and then they shared their spiritual insight based on that scripture. These lessons from nature were interspersed with singing. The evening concluded with prayer for everyone's summer that is soon to begin and for a blessing on each as the school year comes to a close. (May 6, 2022)
Sophomores and your parents, please join the sophomore class Facebook group.

Ceramics
Ceramics is taught by Mr. Zechariah Ray, AA alumnus and local artist, who is developing each student’s ceramic artist skills. Students are at various stages of their ceramic projects, each deeply interested in the projects they are working on. This class is one of the four art classes Andrews Academy offers. Thank you, Mr. Ray, for teaching ceramics this semester and for developing the artistic skills of your students.

Final Exam/Assessment Schedule
& Graduation Practice
|
|
Final exams start on Tuesday, May 24. Please note when your exams are scheduled for and carefully prepare for them so that you can do well in each of your classes. The first day begins at 9:00 AM to provide you more time to prepare. If your transportation requires you to arrive at the school at 8:00 AM, then please go to the Commons.
If you have a study hall (or band) during the first exam slot of the day, then you do not need to arrive until devotions (or your first final of the day, whichever comes first). Please see Mrs. Meekma in the office to excuse your class or if you have any questions. Be sure to sign in at the front office if you arrive after the first exam time.
If you have a break in between two finals (for example, on Wednesday you have a 10:15 AM class final and no 11:10 AM class final [such as a study hall or CSA], then you must go to study hall. You may not leave campus and walk over to Apple Valley or anywhere else.
Please remember that students must stay in the classroom for the entire exam class period. You may not go "get books," "get a drink," etc. when you are done with your exam.
Before the exam begins, please get books you may need to study from, get a drink, use the restroom, etc. so that you can stay in the classroom the entire time. We want the entire school to be quiet during exams so that they can be done as effectively as possible without distractions. Thank you!

Chapels This Week
Special music on Monday was performed by Zothile Sibanda, Natalie Makumbe, and Gabe Krause. For devotions, we had a presentation from Mrs. Joelle Ashley, who shared about the ministry of the Partnering for Eternity (PFE) mentorship program. Four students—Emmanuel Panchame, Anna Rybachek, Natalie Mendonça, and Lonnie Ayaz—all shared stories about their experiences. In conclusion, Mrs. Ashley encouraged us all to use the talents and gifts God gave us to help others.
Caleb Braswell and Grace Dockerty opened chapel with special music on Tuesday. Following this, we were lucky to have Pastor Dwight Nelson, PMC senior pastor, present. He asked if anyone in the room had ever stepped on a poisonous snake before. When he was a child, Pastor Nelson accidentally stepped on a snake in the woods. He compared this snake to the devil, and went on to say he would have created pornography if he, himself, was the devil. The vice of pornography can take hold of anyone, and it is a perfect way to ensnare many people. However, the Bible tells us in Romans 16:20 that “the peace of God will soon crush Satan under your feet.” In closing, Pastor Nelson invited us all to ask for God’s blood to cover us and our sins and be free from whatever Satan has control of in our lives.

Junior Class Cookie Dough Fundraiser Continues
Now that the other class fundraisers have concluded the juniors would like to continue to sell the unexpected extra cookie dough we received last December. The remaining cookie dough containers can store over a year in the freezer. They have been kept frozen since December and are available for anyone interested in supporting the Junior class and enjoying fresh cookies. Each container can make 30 cookies. We are selling them at a discounted price of $10. Please stop by Atkins’ classroom to pick some up or contact any junior who would be happy to pick one up for you. We still have many chocolate chip available.
