Honoring Sharon Russell During Alumni Weekend

We are looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend at Andrews Academy's Alumni Weekend (October 17-18, 2025)!

During the weekend services, we will feature a special non-endowed fund for worthy students in memory of Sharon Russell, home economics and health teacher from 1977-2003, that was spearheaded two years ago by the class of 2003. If you would like to donate to this fund, click on the button below and search "Sharon."

Additionally, we are planning another memorial walk on Sunday morning in honor of Sharon! Plan to join us in the Andrews Academy parking lot on Sunday, October 19, at 9:00 AM. We will gather, share memories, take a group photo, pray, and then walk a mile route on the Andrews University campus. If you have your old school AA t-shirts, feel free to wear them along with some comfortable walking shoes! Your hearts will thank you for this (one of Mrs. Russell's many treasured lines about exercise)!

Shydepoke 2025

Hello AA Alumni,

I have created a Google form for all alumni (those who graduated or attended) to complete. It will only take you 5 minutes, and it will give me great information on how to plan for the evening. If you get a chance, please complete the form.

The female basketball game starts at 8:00 PM, and the male game is immediately following. I will provide the game balls for both games. I will also provide the jerseys for the alumni to wear. We will be playing in the AU Andreasen Center for Wellness gym.

If you have any questions, please email me at samantham@andrews.edu.

Academy Alumni Now Eligible for University Intramural Sports Participation

We are pleased to share that Andrews Academy graduates are now eligible to participate in Andrews University’s intramural sports program. This new eligibility category has been established as a 1-year pilot program aimed at fostering connection, promoting wellness, and expanding access to Christian athletics within our school system community.

This initiative reflects our shared values of inclusion, healthful living, and spiritual growth through recreation.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate, Academy alumni must meet the following requirements:

  1. Proof of Graduation

    • Accepted forms of documentation:

      • A copy of your Andrews Academy diploma

      • OR an email confirmation from the AA school registrar or principal

  2. Proof of Health Insurance

    • A valid insurance card or documentation must be presented at the time of registration.

  3. Participation Fee

    • $70 per sport

    • This is the same fee paid by AU students who do not hold an AU diploma.

    • The fee supports referee wages, student staffing, and equipment/facility costs.

Registration Process

To enroll in intramurals:

  1. Gather the required documentation (proof of graduation and insurance).

  2. Visit the ACW (Andrews Campus Wellness) Office on campus.

  3. Ask for Jamie Stacey, who will assist with registration.

  4. Pay the $70 participation fee per sport (methods of payment can be confirmed in-office).

  5. Select your sport(s) of interest and await confirmation.

Additional Notes

  • This is a trial program that we hope will become permanent based on participation and community feedback.

  • Participants must be graduates of Andrews Academy. Current AA students are not eligible.

  • Participants are expected to uphold the values of Christian sportsmanship and respectful conduct at all times.

Warm Regards,

Blake Shelley
