Welcome to our newest alumni, AA Class of 2022!

Fall is here, and that can only mean one thing—ALUMNI WEEKEND! We are so excited to host AA Alumni weekend on October 14 & 15! The main events are on Sabbath, October 15. Career Seminars presented by alumni for current students are held on Friday morning. There will not be a Friday vespers.

Plan to attend all of our events and catch up with classmates. In case there are any updates to the weekend's schedule, please visit our reunion information page before alumni weekend. Events are hosted at the Academy unless otherwise stated. Some honor classes may have additional gatherings to attend. Many of the honor classes have a Facebook group page where classmates may be planning activities for the weekend. See our list of FB groups for links. If we don't have yours listed, please reply to this email and let us know.

Alumni Weekend Events:

Friday, October 14: 8-11 AM - Convocation (Christiana (Atkins) Howell '12, speaker) and Career Seminar Presentations by alumni for current student body
Sabbath, October 15: 10 AM - Tribute Sabbath School & Alumni Proceedings
Sabbath, October 15: 11:30 AM - Alumni Worship Convocation: Rahel (Davidson) Wells & Olen Netteburg '97, Speakers
Sabbath, October 15: 12:45 PM - Honored Class Alumni Photos & Haystack Luncheon (food provided)
Sabbath, October 15: 2-6 PM - Academy building open for extended mingling
Saturday night, October 15: 8 PM - Shydepoke (hosted at the Andrews University athletic field)

Sabbath school and church are typically live-streamed on AA's Facebook page and YouTube channel. If you are unable to join us in person, please join us virtually!

Teacher Legacy Award & Honored Alumnus

Andrews Academy's history is full of both legendary faculty/staff and graduates. These legends have humbly continued to minister to the world upon departing the nest of Andrews Academy! During Sabbath School (October 15), it will be our pleasure to honor Pastor Glenn Russell (religion teacher at AA from 1985-1999) with the Teacher Legacy Award, and Robert Fusté '97 with the Alumnus of the Year award.

Shydepoke 2022

Hello AA Alumni,

I am trying something new this year to start planning for the annual Shydepoke games on Saturday night, October 15, 2022. I have created a Google form for all alumni (those who graduated or attended) to complete. It will only take you 5 minutes, and it will give me great information on how to plan for the evening. If you get a chance, please complete the form.

The female game starts at 8:00 PM, and the male game is immediately following. Entrance to the field starts at 7:30 PM. I will provide the game balls and flag belts for both games. If you have another game ball preference, just let me know. I will also provide the jerseys for the alumni to wear. We will be playing on the AU intramural field that is located right in front of Meier Hall on Andrews University campus. You can park in the PMC parking lot or Meier Hall parking lot.
