Junior Class Vespers
More than forty juniors enjoyed the treasure hunt vespers last Friday evening. It began with a hot dog supper, then the group went outside to find treasures of scripture, nature nuggets, and chocolates! They returned to the home ec room where they took turns sharing scripture, a lesson from nature, and spiritual insights on the topic. This was interspersed with singing by the group.
Eva Prouty, class pastor, shared a worship thought on God's treasures. The evening concluded with the class gathering around Eva, praying for her as she moves away this summer, and praying for each other as the year concludes. (May 20, 2022)

Final Exams & Kaleidoscope Begin the Year-End Traditions
Tuesday morning began with the 8 AM and noon hour final exams. Exams are spread over three days. This year’s video production called Kaleidoscope was held Tuesday morning after exams. A group of students worked on this production all year long. Obviously, the busiest time of the class is near the end of the year when they put it all together. They put on a very creative and production depicting the events of the year.

Final Exam/Assessment Schedule
& Graduation Practice
|
|
Please note when your exams are scheduled for and carefully prepare for them so that you can do well in each of your classes.
If you have a study hall (or band) during the first exam slot of the day, then you do not need to arrive until devotions (or your first final of the day, whichever comes first). Please see Mrs. Meekma in the office to excuse your class or if you have any questions. Be sure to sign in at the front office if you arrive after the first exam time.
If you have a break in between two finals (for example, on Wednesday you have a 10:15 AM class final and no 11:10 AM class final [such as a study hall or CSA], then you must go to study hall. You may not leave campus and walk over to Apple Valley or anywhere else.
Seniors need to attend Mizpah/Checkout on Thursday at 10:50 AM. They are also required to be at practice on Friday morning at 8:45 AM (juniors also).
Please remember that students must stay in the classroom for the entire exam class period. You may not go "get books," "get a drink," etc. when you are done with your exam.
Before the exam begins, please get books you may need to study from, get a drink, use the restroom, etc. so that you can stay in the classroom the entire time. We want the entire school to be quiet during exams so that they can be done as effectively as possible without distractions. Thank you!

Chapels This Week
Following a special music on Monday, Pastor Ferguson briefly stressed the importance of prayer in our lives and in our school. Pastor Ferguson had a group of prayer leaders, and when the students split into smaller prayer groups, they spent the majority of time praying together for each other and the school as the school year is soon coming to a close. It was a meaningful chapel experience.
Today (Tuesday), Pastor Russell returned to AA to share a pertinent message for us as the year closes. What about our future, and how does God shape us into what He wants us to be as we serve Him? Moses, in Numbers 12, is referred to as the humblest man in the world; however, it took many years of preparation to achieve this title. His own mother was able to raise Moses until probably around age twelve, instilling the spiritual insight that carried him through being a prince in Pharaoh's kingdom for many years. At age forty, he slew the Egyptian and had to flee to the wilderness where he was a shepherd and a father, and he learned lessons from God and nature for forty years. Finally at age eighty, God had prepared him enough to now lead the Children of Israel out of Egypt!
Sometimes we want to jump to the important part of our life and skip the time needed for preparation. We must remember that Moses had faith in God to develop his character. Pastor Russell encouraged each of us to have that same faith to let God prepare us for our life's mission.

Junior Class Cookie Dough Fundraiser Continues
Now that the other class fundraisers have concluded the juniors would like to continue to sell the unexpected extra cookie dough we received last December. The remaining cookie dough containers can store over a year in the freezer. They have been kept frozen since December and are available for anyone interested in supporting the Junior class and enjoying fresh cookies. Each container can make 30 cookies. We are selling them at a discounted price of $10. Please stop by Atkins’ classroom to pick some up or contact any junior who would be happy to pick one up for you. We still have many chocolate chip available.
