Dear AA Families,
We have ended another week with no reported cases of COVID-19. We praise God that we have been able to maintain this status. We will continue to monitor and make necessary adjustments as needed.
Academy Day:
This past Tuesday, 71 potential students attended our Academy Day. We hope and pray we will have the opportunity to call them Andrews Academy students.
Music Tours:
Many of our students will participate in these upcoming music tours. Some will be leaving this Wednesday, March 16. Please review the travel policy that was sent from the music department. COVID tests are still required prior to travel.
Electronic Devices:
We want to remind parents and students that cell phones and smart watches should be kept in a safe place, and they should not be seen or heard during the school day. It is important that our students learn to operate within the boundaries set by the school. Even if students don’t like the rules, they are still required to adhere to them. Our education at AA is not just about academics; it is also teaching our students how to properly conduct themselves. Please encourage your child to make appropriate decisions regarding rules and behaviors.
Re-Enrollment:
We are now enrolling students for 2022-2023. Please see the announcement below for more information.
Prayer for Peace:
We continue to pray for those affected by the situation in Ukraine. Special thanks to those who participated in the candlelight vespers last Friday. God is still in control.
As we continue to pray for those who are far away, let us also pray for those in our immediate proximity: those who are struggling with mental health and physical illnesses, those who are living below the poverty line, and those who are homeless.
Proverbs 29:7: The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. As children of a compassionate God, may we reflect His character by showing compassion to those who need to be loved and cared for.

Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on March 30 & 31. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences on Wednesday, March 30, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Conferences on Thursday, March 31, are from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
Online signups will open this Tuesday, March 15. The last day to sign up is March 30.
If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.
When online signups open, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa to sign up and complete the following steps:
- Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
- Select a time for your conference.
- Click the “Add to Cart” button.
- Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
- Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.
These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.
In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.
If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.
- How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
- How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac
We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.
Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University. Music teachers are listed when available as they teach for RMES as well.
If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.
We look forward to meeting with you.

Chapels this Week
Wednesday's chapel experience was primarily a time to sing and pray together. There were various songs, and special music performed by Nate Miller. Several individuals led out in an A.C.T.S prayer, as we prayed for each other and world events. It was a meaningful worship experience.
On Thursday, Lucus Navia, senior class president, presented chapel, which included a little math. He graphed a function to show how various slopes can be calculated at various intersections of the graph. He then dialoged about intersectionality, the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group. Although we see many differences in individuals, he encouraged us to focus on the similarities, emphasizing our commonality as Christians. To close, Lucas reminded us to love like Jesus, with equality no matter how different we are.
Today (Friday), we had individual class devotions, and no pictures were taken.

Free Counseling Offered at Andrews University
The Andrews Community Counseling Center (ACCC) still has openings for new clients. Graduate-level practicum students who provide these free counseling services at the ACCC have training in counseling adults, adolescents, and children. Counseling sessions are completely confidential.
During the pandemic, the ACCC knows that the need for mental health services is great, and they also recognize that the need for physical safety is essential. Therefore, all counseling in-person sessions will require counselors and clients to wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth at all times, regardless of vaccination status. For those unable to attend in-person, some teletherapy services may also be available using confidential Zoom sessions.
