Sophomore and Senior Vespers and Activity
More than seventy sophomores and seniors enjoyed an evening of hay rides, outdoor games, supper, and worship by the campfire this past Friday night. Members from both classes led in energetic singing by the campfire followed by each of the class sponsors sharing a short testimony from their lives. Vespers and activities like these are part of the co-curricular programs of Andrews Academy. It’s not only a spiritual and social program for the students, but also an opportunity to develop leadership skills as class officers planned and ran the evening in consultation of their sponsors. This time the senior class invited the sophomores to join them for this program. We would like to thank the Busch family for once again opening their home for an AA vespers for all to enjoy. Uniforms
The recent vendor was unable to supply our uniform needs. For this reason, we have decided to use a different vendor. Starting in November, parents and students will be able to order uniforms from Land’s End. Please keep in mind that orders are to be placed directly with Land’s End. Andrews Academy is not responsible for orders placed. The link and order information will be provided soon.

Band
AA band will perform this Sabbath, October 29, at PMC, providing music for both services.
Call Time - First Service: 8:00 AM on the platform. Leave cases in the music room downstairs and arrive on time to start warm up and sound check at 8 AM.
Attire: Full concert dress, including black dress shoes and black socks, black bow ties, and cummerbund.
Percussionists: Remember that you are on duty, and responsible to move your instruments back and forth from AA to PMC—especially after second service. You are responsible for making sure all the percussion equipment comes back to AA complete and undamaged. You will, of course, need help from other students, but you must plan to be present and helping every time we move percussion instruments.
Everyone else, we need all hands on deck to move instruments, stands, music folders, set up, and clear everything after the second service. Sign-up sheets will be available on Wednesday.

Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on October 26 & 27. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and conferences this Thursday, October 27, will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
Online signups are open.
If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.
To sign up online, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa and complete the following steps:
- Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
- Select a time for your conference.
- Click the “Add to Cart” button.
- Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
- Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.
These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.
In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.
If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.
- How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
- How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac
We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.
Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University. The band/strings teacher is listed when available as she teaches for RMES as well.
If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.
We look forward to meeting with you.

9th Graders - PSAT Test
Due to technical difficulties, we had to postpone the PSAT 8/9 test to this Thursday, October 27. Students should bring a lunch if they did not sign up for the boxed lunch from AU.
Freshmen students will be dismissed from class at 11:25 AM to eat lunch and will need to report to their testing classroom at 11:55 AM to begin their test. The test should be completed by 3:30 PM. If the student is absent, there are no options for retakes.
I encourage students to get adequate rest the night before and to have a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

Volleyball Tournament: Tuesday, November 15, at 5:30 PM.
Now that flag football intramurals are over, we are moving forward onto the next events in the PE department.
1. We have had six weeks of the Fitness Center being open and available on Mondays from 3:30-4:30 PM. The challenge has been that no one has accepted the opportunity to work out. Please, take the time and opportunity now that it is turning cold to enjoy what is available to every student at AA by using the Fitness Center on Mondays. The link to sign up so we can prepare ahead of time is below, but it is not necessary.
2. The Women's Strength Club is still going strong, and I would really like to thank Mrs. Case for providing her expertise and experience in coaching and training the females of AA. This opportunity is still available for those that would like to join on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 PM in the Fitness Center. Again, you can sign up on the form below, or just show up ready to receive coaching from a certified Personal Trainer.
3. The next all-school event is the AA Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, November 15, starting at 5:30 pm. The gym will be open for teams to start practicing for the tournament on Tuesdays and Thursdays in November leading up to the event. If you are interested, please use this link on the form to inform me of your interest.
