Community Service Day

As part of Andrews Academy's educational program, we participated in community service on Thursday, April 6, 2023. As a school, we feel that it is important for students to learn to serve our community. We teach this in a very practical way by devoting an entire morning practicing this concept with the students, as well as having various smaller projects throughout the year.

Many projects were accomplished around Berrien County. One group of students picked up many bags of garbage at the on and off ramps of US 31 going into Berrien Springs as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program. Another group of students picked up garbage at Fisherman’s Village, the dam, bridge, and nearby parks. Another group of students helped clean and organize things at the Berrien Springs Fairgrounds. Others did various projects at AFM, Apple Valley, Village Adventist Elementary School, and Niles Adventist School. Seniors installed the first part of their class gift, patio stones behind the school for their gift of five park benches. They also painted the exterior of Ms. Chao’s home as their gift to their class sponsor. There were numerous other projects that other AA students and faculty worked at in and around Berrien Springs.

Parents, you should be proud of what your children did on Community Service Day as they served the community. Numerous people at these locations commented on how diligently AA students worked as they helped others, and how thankful they were for all that was accomplished. Our little bit of effort went a long way in demonstrating the philosophy of Andrews Academy, and the diligence, maturity, and selflessness of its students. As faculty, we are blessed to be able to have a part in it.

God blessed us with a beautiful, fun,  and safe day.

Student Association Officer Speeches & Elections

SA Elections are this Tuesday, April 11, during all lunches!

This Tuesday, the student body is able to take part in the tradition of voting for the future Student Association Officers for the 2023-2024 school year. The students will hear the speeches of each of the applicants during an assembly at 10:15 that morning.

We are soliciting the prayers of the student body, faculty & staff, parents, and family members as we seek to elect the student leaders that will represent AA, and most importantly Christ, during their term.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Mr. Steinkraus.

Don’t be selfish, don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

Student Week of Prayer

This week, we were excited to have our Student-Led Week of Prayer, organized by the Spiritual Life Committee—a student group consisting of the organization pastors, Lily Murphy (freshman), Gabby Roper (sophomore), John Bitterman (senior), Anna Rybachek (senior) and Fio Oudri (senior)—who gave messages that encapsulated this week's theme, "Unfiltered." Each message was accompanied by song leaders who led out in praise with this week's theme song, "You Have My Heart."

We would like to thank each of the students involved in this impactful week of reminders and lessons on how to remove our "filters" and approach God with our authentic selves.

AA Uniforms Available from Lands' End

We have renewed our relationship with Lands’ End for uniform needs. More selections for uniforms are now included, such as a button-down shirt, a long-sleeved polo, and a sweater. Click on the option(s) that you would like, then choose the size (kid or adult). Please be mindful that Andrews Academy is not responsible for your orders.

We are working on other jacket options.

Please review the Sourcebook (pgs 79-81) for more information regarding uniforms. Only approved logoed uniform wear is allowed. A solid-color, long sleeved undershirt may be worn under the AA short-sleeved polo (no writing should be visible on the undershirt). If a student is wearing an AA logoed jacket, they should also have an AA logoed shirt underneath.

If you need PE uniform items, please see Pastor Ferguson at lunch time or after school (cash only).

Opting into Texting for One Call Now

Andrews Academy utilizes One Call Now, an automated messaging service, to contact students and parents about school cancellations, upcoming events, and performances, etc.
