Dear AA Families,
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever will be.
This is one of my favorite hymns. I love this song because it is relevant for both our past, present, and future. Our God is faithful!
As we continue through the semester, I want to provide you with information that will help you navigate through the semester.
Below are some important items:
Uniforms
The recent vendor was unable to supply our uniform needs. For this reason, we have decided to use a different vendor. Starting in November, parents and students will be able to order uniforms from Land’s End. Please keep in mind that orders are to be placed directly with Land’s End. Andrews Academy is not responsible for orders placed. The link and order information will be provided soon.
Academic Dishonesty
Please encourage your child to seek help in subjects that are challenging. Cheating is never an option. Luke 16:10: “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” Please review the Sourcebook regarding academic dishonesty.
Anti-Bullying Policy
Because we should treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated, any type of harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender, national origin, religion, age, disability, or other legally protected characteristics, will be considered entirely out of place at Andrews Academy. Slurs, jokes, and verbal or physical intimidation are inappropriate. Teasing of a demeaning nature, comments that may be interpreted as insults, put-downs, and sexually suggestive statements are unacceptable at any time or place. These behaviors constitute violations of our citizenship code. Students are encouraged to report any incidents of harassment, directed at them or someone else, to their teacher or to someone in administration. The school will use all legitimate resources available to protect the dignity and privacy of students, and to protect them from predatory behavior. This includes any form of cyber bullying.
Baptismal Classes and Bible Studies
If students are interested in participating in Bible studies or baptismal classes, please contact me at aaprincipal@andrews.edu.
Penny Arcade
This annual event is next Saturday evening, October 29, from 8:00–10:00 PM. AA students will be joined by area 7th & 8th graders to enjoy games and food, all for just pennies.
Students are encouraged to sign up to help set up on Friday starting at 12:00 PM. Friday afternoon (October 28) classes will be canceled for everyone, and Dining Services will not provide lunch that day.
Community Service Church & Service Opportunities
The annual Community Service Church happens on Sabbath, November 12, at 11:30 AM. Families are invited to attend the church service at AA along with their child. Following the service, lunch will be provided. Then students will participate in various community service opportunities.
Thank you all for your continued commitment to Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. God is blessing Andrews Academy. Tomorrow four of our students will be baptized. We praise God for their decisions.

Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on October 26 & 27. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences this Wednesday, October 26, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and conferences this Thursday, October 27, will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
Online signups are open.
If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.
To sign up online, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa and complete the following steps:
- Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
- Select a time for your conference.
- Click the “Add to Cart” button.
- Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
- Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.
These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.
In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.
If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.
- How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
- How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac
We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.
Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University. The band/strings teacher is listed when available as she teaches for RMES as well.
If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.
We look forward to meeting with you.

Students who are signed up for the lunch program and would like to receive a boxed lunch from Dining Services will need to sign up by this Tuesday, October 25, at 2:00 PM. I encourage students to get adequate rest the night before and to have a nutritious breakfast in the morning.

Again, you can sign up on the form below, or just show up ready to receive coaching from a certified Personal Trainer.

Chapels this Week
Our chapels this week featured a wide variety of speakers and praise leaders.
Monday’s speaker was Mrs. Murphy, freshman Lily Murphy’s mother, who invited students up to the stage to do a blind taste test and describe what they were tasting to another blindfolded student. She did this with the purpose of reminding students that it is not easy to describe God without first experiencing Him.
On Tuesday, Pastor Lindsey Pratt brought out a pair of glasses to ask students whether or not they are wearing their “eternal glasses.” She made a connection with Revelation chapter 5 and concluded by claiming verses 9 and 10— “...with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth” (NIV).
We heard from Loveth Ekpendu, junior, on Wednesday, who testified about the power of prayer. She recalled a recent harrowing experience, where her mother—back home in Nigeria—was kidnapped and how she, along with family, friends, and church members, prayed continually about her safe return. All praise to God as her mother was returned to her family—a miracle!—unscathed and uninjured.
Thursday’s speaker was Elisabeth Jeroncic, sophomore, who brought her adorable dog, Leo, to accompany her as she told a story about how her family came to adopt him and also how sometimes, her relationship with Leo as his owner, is similar to that between God and us—how He is waiting for us at the finish line.
Rothschird Dangervil, currently studying at the AU seminary, was our speaker for today. He took the well-known verse—John 3:16—and “dissected” it into 3 segments: probation, payment, and promise. He assured students that God’s love extends to everyone, even those who they think might not deserve it.
