Please plan for Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom on March 29 & 30. School will dismiss at 12:00 PM on both days to accommodate the conferences. Conferences on Wednesday, March 29, will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and conferences on Thursday, March 30, will be from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
Online signups are now open. The last day to sign up will be Tuesday, March 28.
If things are going well for your child in their class, please do not feel like you have to make an appointment with the teacher. If you would like to, you can make an appointment, but making an unnecessary appointment will result in fewer appointments available for those that really need to have a conference.
To sign up online, please go to http://gotsession.com/aa and complete the following steps:
- Fill out the form (please use full parent and student names).
- Select a time for your conference.
- Click the “Add to Cart” button.
- Click the “View Cart” button to view your scheduled time.
- Click the “Submit Order” button to save your appointment.
These steps MUST be done for EACH appointment.
In your confirmation email, you will receive the teacher’s Zoom information.
If you need additional help to schedule via mobile device or PC/Mac, please click on a video tutorial link below.
- How to schedule a conference using a mobile device
- How to schedule a conference using a PC/Mac
We encourage students to attend these conferences with their parent.
Please note that only full-time teachers are listed. Some of our teachers will be away on band tour, so you will need to make other arrangements if you would like to meet with them. Contract and college/dual enrollment class teachers aren't listed. If you have a desire to conference with a contract teacher, the office will be able to provide you with contact information. College teachers must be reached through the University.
If spots are filled or there is not a time slot that is workable for you, please feel free to email the teachers through the FACTS portal and schedule an appointment that works for both of you.
We look forward to meeting with you.

Chapels this Week
This week, we had some special guests as well as some familiar faces up on the chapel stage.
Our first two chapel speakers this week were Mrs. Freed and Mrs. Messina, who are both parents of current AA students, Ronan Freed (senior) and Evia Dasher (sophomore) respectively. On Monday, Mrs. Freed spoke about the image of God within us, and how her perspective on that helped her raise Ronan. Mrs. Messina, on Tuesday, spoke with encouragement, reminding us not to let others tell us who our God is, that we each have a unique version of God in our hearts.
On Wednesday through Friday, we heard from some of the teachers at AA. Wednesday's speaker was Mr. VanDenburgh, who told a tear-invoking story about his experience as a student missionary in the Marshall Islands and one instance where he wrote a letter to his father. His message was that even if we don't know/see/feel it, we matter to God.
On Thursday, we heard from Ms. Kim, who spoke about the importance of waiting, and how we should redefine waiting to be a more positive word in our lives and relationship with God.
To end the week, Mr. Sherman gave his talk, recounting a story about his father and a trumpet his father had, the value of which he did not know when he sold it. Throughout the story, Mr. Sherman reminded us not to cast away our confidence that God values us and wants to save us.
We thank each of this week's chapel speakers, as well as the students who led out in music ministry! We appreciate each daily reminder of God's love in our lives!

AA Uniforms Available from Lands' End
We have renewed our relationship with Lands’ End for uniform needs. More selections for uniforms are now included, such as a button-down shirt, a long-sleeved polo, and a sweater. Click on the option(s) that you would like, then choose the size (kid or adult). Please be mindful that Andrews Academy is not responsible for your orders.
We are working on other jacket options.
|
|
Please review the Sourcebook (pgs 79-81) for more information regarding uniforms. Only approved logoed uniform wear is allowed. A solid-color, long sleeved undershirt may be worn under the AA short-sleeved polo (no writing should be visible on the undershirt). If a student is wearing an AA logoed jacket, they should also have an AA logoed shirt underneath.
|
If you need PE uniform items, please see Pastor Ferguson or Mrs. Mills at lunch time or after school (cash only).

Opting into Texting for One Call Now
Andrews Academy utilizes One Call Now, an automated messaging service, to contact students and parents about school cancellations, upcoming events, and performances, etc.
|
|
|
Please make sure that we have the phone number that you would like to have contacted. We also send an email, put the announcement on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and alert local TV stations (WSBT, WNDU, ABC57).
To receive a text notification instead of a call (text works best), please text “ALERT” to 22300. Please make sure that you have given us the number that you would like to be texted on as well. Email ginam@andrews.edu with any changes. Thank you!
